What I have learnt in my first 2 years of owning salons:

I opened my first salon on Queens Road in Weybridge, Surrey in August 2018. It was the scariest thing I had ever done having just had a baby that March. I started off in a small premises next to the Shooting Star charity shop and it was just me. I specialise in dermal fillers and microneedling so I was pretty busy with this most of the time. I did start to get higher demand for semi permanent make up, lashes, waxing etc which lead to me making the decision to moving into a bigger premises and going from just me to there being 4 of us. The craziest part is I decided to do it in lockdown (I seem to make big decisions during some very stressful times!)

One of the most valuable lessons I have learnt in the 2 years of owning salons is that if you don't take risks, you will never fulfil your dreams. I was absolutely petrified about opening a salon I didn't think it would do as well as I wanted and always worried that people wouldn't come in - I was so wrong. It was the best thing I have ever done for my business and now I encourage everybody I know to take a risk if it brings great benefits.
